Seven professionals admitted to partnership as of 1 July 2017 at EY Luxembourg

The Country Leadership Committee of EY Luxembourg is proud to announce the admission of seven of its professionals to partnership, of which two professionals to the rank of Partner, one professional to the rank of Principal and four professionals to the rank of Directeur Associé as of 1 July 2017.

New Partners as of 1 July 2017

Jean-Baptiste Barberot, Tax, US Desk
Jean-Baptiste, 41, French, graduated in law from the University of Paris II in 2000, followed by an LL.M. in Banking and Financial Law from the Boston University School of Law in 2002.  He joined EY Luxembourg in 2005 and has been based in New York since 2008. Jean-Baptiste has specialized in structuring, coordinating and implementing cross-border corporate transactions. Based in New York, he serves EY local clients and also coordinates corporate international restructurings for U.S. and Canadian clients.

Robert White, Assurance, Real Estate
Robert, 33, Irish, joined EY in 2005 having graduated from the National University of Ireland, Galway. Robert works in the Real Estate sector where he serves a number of large audit mandates. Through his years at EY, Robert completed a two year secondment to the EY London Practice and has worked extensively in the US and Asia. Robert has authored many articles in major publications, produced papers for various trade organizations and actively contributed to the EY Alternative Investment Club.  Robert is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and a member of the Institut des Réviseurs d’Entreprises.

Rafael Aguilera, Advisory, Asset Management
Rafael, 42, Belgian, joined EY Luxembourg in 2012 as a Directeur Associé focusing on distribution and product strategy solutions for the wealth and asset management sector. Rafael is the Fund Distribution leader for EY Luxembourg. Prior to joining EY, Rafael looks back on a professional career of 12 years that he has spent in the asset management sector and within consulting firms. Rafael holds a Law degree from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), in Brussels (Belgium) and completed a Master in Finance and a Master in Corporate Finance from KU Leuven Business School (Belgium). Rafael has been a member of the ALFI and EFAMA since 2008 and a member of the distribution steering committee at the ALFI.

New Directeurs Associés as of 1 July 2017

Aurélie Frost, Assurance,Telecom, Media & Technology
Aurélie, 35, French, joined EY in 2004 as an auditor junior in the commercial services department. She holds a master’s degree in Accounting and Finance from SKEMA Business School, Lille, France. Aurélie has gained 12 years of experience in the audit of commercial and industrial companies in Luxembourg, with a focus on Telecom, Media & Technology clients. Aurélie is a Certified Public Accountant (IRE) in Luxembourg and has also been EY Global Telecom Sector Resident for 3 years.

Claudia Thiel, Assurance, Asset Management
Claudia, 44, German, joined EY Luxembourg in 2012. She holds a degree (“Diplom-Betriebswirtin FH”) in Business Administration from Hochschule Trier, Germany. Claudia has 17 years of experience in auditing investment funds including alternative funds (regulated and unregulated), management companies and investment firms. Further experience includes executing SOC and executing and analysing compliance and anti-money laundering related tasks. She is a Certified Public Accountant in Luxembourg (Réviseur d’Entreprises), in the UK (ACCA) and in the US (CPA).

Per Ohlin, Tax, Private Equity
Per, 39, Swedish, joined EY in 2005. He holds a Law degree from the University of Lund, Sweden. Per has gained over 11 years of transactional experience for alternative investment funds and multinationals. He joined the transaction tax team in 2011 after having been seconded to the Luxembourg tax desk in Chicago.

Zeeshan Ahmed, Assurance, Private Equity
Zeeshan, 40, Pakistani, joined EY in 2008. He is a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan and holds Masters from Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. Zeeshan has gained 8 years of experience in Luxembourg in auditing private equity, infrastructure and real estate funds and investment structures.  He is qualified Islamic finance professional and actively involved in servicing clients on governance structure and compliance matters. Zeeshan is a Certified Public Accountant (IRE) in Luxembourg.
