First evaluation of the Fit4Job initiative: 26 jobseekers have successfully been re-employed

The first assessment of the pilot project Fit4Job, launched on 25 February 2010 by the the Ministry of Labour and the Department of Employment, the ABBL and the IFBL, and which actively accompanies and supports people in the financial sector in their efforts to find re-employment, turns out to be more than positive.

Indeed, on June 28, Minister of Labour Nicolas Schmit unveiled the results of this pilot project, which show that, thanks to Fit4Job, 26 jobseekers have successfully found re-employment and that 20 others are expected to follow suit in the very near future.

76 people made redundant in the financial sector participated in the Fit4Job initiative, which was conceived as a long-term project. The IFBL and the job centre ADEM were responsible for coaching the jobseekers. In addition, the IFBL developed competency diagnostics by testing the candidates’ overall knowledge in the financial sector and establishing a personality profile. These results were discussed in 90 minute individual interviews and lead, whenever necessary, to a recommendation of suitable training programmes.

Having earned its stripes in the financial sector, the Fit4Job formula will most likely be rolled out in other business sectors.
