The protocol of agreement on security in banks recommends security measures to protect persons and bank premises in case of bank hold-ups or any other physical attacks.

The protocol was signed on 21 July by the ABBL, the personnel representation of the Banque et Caisse d’Epargne de l’Etat (BCEE), and the trade unions ALEBA, OGBL and LCGB, in the presence of the Minister of Finance, Luc Frieden, and the Minister for Home Affairs and the Greater Region, Jean-Marie Halsdorf.

This new version of the protocol, which replaces the protocol signed in 2004, has been revised in order to adequately reflect the evolution of criminal trends as well as the professional needs of the banking sector.

The implementation of this protocol of agreement is monitored by a working group chaired by the Grand-Ducal police force and which is made up of representatives of the signatory parties, the Grand-Ducal police force and the different ministries and administrations concerned. The working group is supported in its task by the Physical Security Committee of the ABBL.
