Membership of the Luxembourg Bankers’ Association (ABBL) will give you access to the intelligence, resources and services you need in order to operate in a dynamic financial market and an increasingly complex regulatory environment. You will have a long-established and influential association working in your interests and representing you at the highest levels both in Luxembourg as well as in Europe.
We represent your interests at the highest level. The ABBL is represented in over 50 different bodies and committees, including the Senior Committee of the Financial Centre, the Economic and Social Council, the Luxembourg regulator CSSF, the Luxembourg Central Bank, Luxembourg Social security institutions, the European Banking Federation and the European Payments Council.
We also defend the interests of the Luxembourg financial community in a great number of Government working groups, EU expert groups, financial industry related organisations as well as working groups set up by the regulator or the Central Bank.
We lobby government representatives, legislators, public administrations, opinion makers and professional organisations on your behalf.
The ABBL is a main interlocutor of the authorities in all technical, business and social matters.
Furthermore, the ABBL promotes the financial sector in the Luxembourg society and abroad and provides information to the sector's public.
Our technical committees and working groups, as well as our business line clusters, provide technical, legal and strategic input on all major issues of relevance to the Luxembourg financial centre.
The ABBL acts as a centre of competence and as platform for the exchange of ideas. We keep you constantly informed on legal and regulatory developments at national and international level. As the voice of Luxembourg banking, the ABBL also stays in regular contact with the press in all matters relating to Luxembourg’s financial sector.
In our role as employers’ association, we assist you in all social matters, and regularly negotiate salary and working conditions with the trade unions on behalf of the entire sector.
Through our financial training institute IFBL, we offer you training programmes adapted to the needs of banks and other financial professionals in Luxembourg.
Via the Association for Health and Safety at Work in the Financial Sector (ASTF), the ABBL allows you to comply with legislation in security and health matters.
We work in the interest of the whole financial sector. ABBL membership gives you the advantage of working side by side with your peers.
Whether it be our input in drafting legislation, our feedback on European and international initiatives or our lobbying on key industry issues - all financial actors in Luxembourg benefit from our common work.
So, why not join and become an active member of your community?
