This event will focus on how we can effectively harness disruptive trends to deliver practical, real world change to the financial industry and its customers. Over the course of one and a half days, the broad-ranging programme will examine challenges and opportunities in the Benelux and beyond, and assess how new technologies, changing business models, and collaborative ways of working pave the way for the future.

  • 13:45 - 14:30: SWIFT 2020 roadmap
    We have shaped SWIFT2020 to respond effectively to external challenges and drivers as well as to build on the success of previous strategies. Our resulting SWIFT2020 strategy focuses on three main dimensions:
    - Grow and strengthen core messaging services for payments and securities
    - Expand and deepen offerings for market infrastructures
    - Build our financial crime compliance portfolio
  • 14:30 - 15:00: Financial Crime Compliance - The road towards SWIFT's Compliance Utility
  • 15:00 - 15:30: Coffee break and networking
  • 15:30 - 17:00: Blockchain - From hype to real-world application?
    Blockchain has been a hype in the financial industry for the past 2 years now. How has it developed over time and is there potential for it to become mainstream?  What are the advanced use-cases of distributed ledger technology and what applications might influence the future of the financial industry. E.g. how could smart contracts and distributed consensus protocols influence the securities or trade finance industry?
  • 17:00 - 17:45: Getting the most out of BI
    The SWIFT Business Intelligence (BI) products have been known for ten years now for their unique analysis and insights into your correspondent banking business through volume, value and currency analysis.

  • 09:00 - 09:45: Intraday Liquidity Reporting and SWIFT Scope
  • 09:45 - 11:00: Real-time Payments
    The shift towards real-time payments is a global phenomenon, changing the shape of payments systems around the world. This session takes stock of progress, deep dives on the different payment system models under development, and examines what lessons can be learned from elsewhere that might apply to Benelux.
  • 11:00 - 11:30: Coffee Break
  • 11:30 - 12:15: The global payments innovation initiative (gpii)
    The vision of the global payments innovation initiative is to enhance cross border transactions by leveraging SWIFT’s proven messaging platform and global reach. Together with the industry, SWIFT has created a new service level agreement (SLA) rulebook, providing an opportunity for smart collaboration between banks. In its first phase, the new service will focus on business-to-business payments.
  • 12:15 - 12:45: Securities update
    This session will zoom in on the current snapshot of Benelux’s securities usage, SWIFT’s current products & services for the securities space, as well as the chosen areas of focus to further develop SWIFT’s securities roadmap.
  • 12:45 - 13:30: Lunch
  • 13:30 - 14:15: Integration in practice - IPLA use-cases
  • 14:15 - 14:45: AMH
