The Law of 5 April 1993 on the financial sector is the main source of regulation for banks and professionals of the financial sector in Luxembourg. Regulating access to the profession, the law was first adopted with the implementation of the second European banking directive and has been continuously amended. It is commonly known as “the banking law”.
