Do you speak ESG?

In the pursuit of sustainability, partnerships matter!

In the recent ABBL/PWC sustainable finance survey – CEO Pulse 2019 published in May this year, 62% of banks’ CEOs perceive ABBL as the most relevant partners to drive Sustainable Finance forward.

Please see below:

Conscious of this responsibility, the ABBL is committed to play a crucial role in supporting its members in fostering the strategic positioning of Luxembourg as a leading European development hub for agile, innovative and sustainable banking solutions.

After the endorsement of the UNEP FI principles for Responsible Banking last January 2019 and the conduction of the above-mentioned survey in May, the ABBL reached another important milestone in the field of sustainable finance, which is the fruit of cooperation with different stakeholders of the financial ecosystem that decided to share their passions, time and expertise with us!

Training Course

Having in mind the set of recommendations published in the UNEP FI Luxembourg Sustainable Finance Roadmap, in particular the one covering education, the Luxembourg Bankers’ Association, in partnership with the HoT (House of Training) and Forethix (leading advisory firm, specialized in responsible investment and corporate responsibility) designed the first sustainable finance course of its kind in Luxembourg, which is part of a training curriculum leading to a certification, answering the following 4 basic questions:

The financial sector can be catalyst for change in the context of ESG transition for economic systems.

Explore the current sustainable finance concepts and definitions (ESG, SDG, SRI, responsible investing…) to build up a solid foundation to face upcoming business challenges.

Getting to know roles and responsibilities of the main stakeholders who actively contribute to mainstream sustainable finance globally as well as locally

Sharing industry best practices through practical business case studies.

Target Audience

All professionals working in banks, asset management, insurance companies and other financial institutions who need to capture fundamental knowledge on sustainable finance. No pre-requisites are required.

The Sustainable Finance Foundation course together with the Advanced course is part of a training curriculum. The knowledge acquired in both courses will be validated through an examination. Successful candidates will be granted a certificate.
