On 2 September 2019, the “Financial Education – Zuumer Academy” organized by the Fondation ABBL pour l’éducation financière was launched for a period of two weeks.
This new initiative is a continuation of the Foundation’s commitment to financial literacy by promoting the social inclusion of socially vulnerable people. This project was selected by the Luxembourg Ministry of Family Affairs, Integration and the Greater Region as part of its national action plan in collaboration with the OLAI (Office luxembourgeois de l’accueil et de l’intégration).
The aim of this Zuumer Academy is to provide lunch time financial education courses by committed volunteers (ABBL employees) through 8 modules set up specifically for this purpose (e.g. “my bank”, “my account”, “using different payment methods”, “managing my budget” …) to help participants manage their personal finances confidently and understand the relationship with their bank.
This year, 20 people are set to benefit from these training courses, which will be validated by a certificate and which will allow them to progress in their integration process – the majority of participants being foreigners.
