The ABBL and CMS Luxembourg will host a digital conference on 23 September from 12-13.30.
As blockchain (distributed ledger technology – DLT) continues to disrupt the financial sector, laws and regulations are being amended to move towards a more digital environment for financial institutions, service providers, asset managers and investors alike. In the meantime, all these players are increasingly looking to the future and to how technology can be applied to their business operations. This included digitalisation of the data they use, the use of blockchain/DLT for supporting their activities, and innovation for both new and existing products such as tokenisation.
The focus of this conference will be on DLT, issuance and settlement of securities and respective use-cases, It will provide an overview of the current situation, looking at potential opportunities and remaining obstacles.
Following an introduction from Aurélian Hollard, Partner at CMS Luxembourg, and Ananda Kautz, Head of Innovation, Digital Banking & Payments with the ABBL, Aurélia Viémont, Senior Counsel of CMS Luxembourg will first give a brief overview of the current legal and regulatory landscape, including recent developments, and then moderate a panel discussion on the maturity of the market based on practical experience.
