General information
In the context of the International Women’s Rights Day, the STATEC is organising on the 1st of March a conference on the salaries of women and men. In the presence of the of the responsible minister, Taina Bofferding, speakers will explain the issues as well as the means made available to companies to ensure gender equality at work.
In addition, the STATEC will publish views on the employment and salaries of men and women in Luxembourg. The aim of the economic seminar will be to present the main results:
- Only 38% of employees are women
- Women are still concentrated in some sectors and almost absent in others
- If women have made significant progress in management positions, very high salaries seem to remain with them inaccessible
- Along with Romania, Luxembourg has the lowest pay gap of the European Union
The ABBL strongly supports this event and believes that diversity is no longer regarded as simply a human resources issue limited to fair hiring perspectives. It has become a strategic business issue as it can contribute to corporate strategy and effectiveness, and there is undoubtedly a positive relationship between financial performance and greater diversity in leadership.
