Following a decade of unrelenting deregulation, banks are the last in a series of industries to find themselves forced to evolve their business and operating models. Most banks will no longer be able, nor find it desirable nor cost-effective, to continue to manage their whole operating model in-house. Banks will need to open up to 3rd parties. Banks will need to create ecosystems – customer experience networks – that facilitate seamless digital customer journeys. The changes this brings go well beyond creating some APIs and partnership agreements; instead, it forces a fundamental rethink of the bank’s priorities, capabilities, business model and the organisation it needs to deliver these to their clients.

The goal of various workshops, organised by the ABBL’s Digital Banking and FinTech Innovation Cluster, is to provide a pragmatic and easy to implement advice to ABBL members in the context of changing market trends, technological and regulatory environment. Each set of workshops is expected to end up with a specific deliverable, for instance, guidelines, tips and tricks, approaches and methodologies, examples, checklists and so on. Therefore, participants of the workshop are expected to contribute actively to its outcomes.
