Securities Financing Transactions Regulation, or SFTR, aims to increase the transparency of securities financing transactions by requiring both financial and non-financial market participants to report transaction details to an approved EU trade repository. The reporting requirements concern repurchase agreements, securities lending activities, sell/buy-back transactions and margin lending. The market players, starting with credit institutions and investment firms, are expected to be facing new complex reporting obligations from Q2/2020.
Due to the great interest, we will host a roundtable on “SFTR in practice” as a platform for discussion, learning and interaction. During the event we will examine in detail the expected go-live of the regulation, how the reporting process will work in practice, the content of reported data fields and our approach to meeting the new reporting requirements.
