Denisa Avermaete is a senior adviser at the European Banking Federation (EBF) currently in charge of sustainable finance. Joining the EBF in 2006, she held various positions in the fields of payments, accounting and prudential regulation, following and contributing to the development of several key legislations and financial reporting standards such IFRS 9. She started her career in Creditanstalt, an Austrian bank active in Eastern Europe. She left the position of deputy head of the International Payments Department to join the Slovak Banking Association. She holds a Master’s degree in banking and finance from the University of Economics in Bratislava.
