Banking careers in the spotlight at Unicareers 2025
Published on 30 September 2025
For the third consecutive year, the ABBL actively participated in the Unicareers fair, organised by Moovijob. This key event once again confirmed the Association’s commitment to promoting banking careers and supporting members in attracting new talent.
Summary
Strong interest at the ABBL stand
The 2025 edition welcomed more than 30,000 participants. The ABBL stand, located in the financial sector area, attracted significant attention. Together with representatives from VP Bank, Satispay, China Merchants Bank, LuxHub and Julius Bär, the ABBL team showcased the diversity of banking professions and the breadth of opportunities in the sector.
The interest was tangible: around 200 candidates were referred directly to the ABBL, with CVs to be shared with the Association’s HR community for follow-up.
A dedicated round table
Beyond the stand, the ABBL organised a round table on the appeal and diversity of banking careers. The panel brought together:
- Kevin Coviello, Banque Raiffeisen
- Sandrine Munezero, Head of Payments, ING Luxembourg
- Patricia Schneberger, Senior HR Business Partner, Banque de Luxembourg
- Dr Daniel Zapf, CEO, Deutsche Bank Luxembourg
The discussion was moderated by Paul Wilwertz, ABBL Communications Manager.
Careers shaped by dynamism and innovation
The exchange highlighted several themes:
- The dynamism and resilience of Luxembourg’s financial sector
- The societal value and meaning of banking professions
- Innovation as a driver of change
- Multiple career paths and opportunities for growth
- Internal mobility and professional development
The debate confirmed the attractiveness of Luxembourg’s banking industry, not only as a career choice for young professionals, but also as a sector that continues to evolve and play a vital role in society.
