Directive (EU) 2024/1275 on the energy performance of buildings, adopted on 24 April 2024 (recast), strengthens the EU framework to decarbonise the building sector by 2050. It introduces zero-emission building standards, minimum energy performance requirements, renovation targets and enhanced energy performance certificates to accelerate efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
