The House of Training celebrates 10 years of learning, growth and curiosity
Published on 15 October 2025
The House of Training, co-founded by the ABBL and the Chamber of Commerce, marked its 10th anniversary on 15 October 2025 at the Malt Innovative Factory. The event gathered nearly 200 participants — clients, trainers, partners and employees — to celebrate a decade of shared commitment to skills development and Luxembourg’s economic competitiveness.
Summary
A decade of impact through learning
Over the past ten years, the House of Training has become a cornerstone of lifelong learning in Luxembourg’s financial and business landscape, empowering both organisations and individuals to thrive in a constantly changing world.
Since its creation, the institution has achieved impressive results:
- Over 250,000 registrations
- More than 20,000 training sessions
- 550,000 training days delivered
- 13,000 organisations supported
- A network of 800 expert trainers and 60 professional partners
These figures reflect a shared belief that continuous learning is the key to progress and adaptability — a conviction that drives both the House of Training and the ABBL in their joint mission to enhance professional excellence across the financial sector.
“Training is the fuel that propels our economy,” said Karin Scholtes, Chair of the House of Training.
Curiosity as a driving force for innovation
Curiosity was the central theme of the anniversary celebration — an invitation to look back, reflect, and stay open to new ideas. Moderated by Muriel Morbé, CEO of the House of Training, a roundtable brought together four prominent figures from the Luxembourg ecosystem:
Carole Muller (Fischer Bakeries), Stéphanie Jauquet (Cocottes & Co), Pierre Ahlborn (Banque de Luxembourg) and Thierry Flies (Schroeder & Associés).
The discussion explored topics such as intergenerational learning, artificial intelligence, emerging skills and the power of questioning as a catalyst for growth and innovation.
“Curiosity is the engine of learning — a virtue that nurtures agility, stimulates innovation and strengthens competitiveness,” emphasised Muriel Morbé.
A forward-looking partnership
As one of its founding institutions, the ABBL continues to work closely with the House of Training to design and deliver programmes tailored to the evolving needs of Luxembourg’s financial industry. This collaboration ensures that professionals at all levels — from new entrants to senior executives — have access to high-quality, future-oriented training opportunities that support the digital, sustainable and regulatory transformation of the sector.
What’s next: the 2026 training catalogue
Looking ahead, the House of Training unveiled its 2026 training catalogue, featuring more than 1,470 courses across 23 areas of expertise. Developed in cooperation with 60 professional associations and federations, including the ABBL, the new offer focuses on three major pillars:
- Artificial Intelligence, with expanded courses on applications across business functions;
- Sustainable Transition, addressing ESG, CSRD and sustainability skills;
- Cybersecurity, Governance and Risk Management, responding to strategic sector priorities.
The catalogue also includes 13 new higher education programmes, in partnership with leading institutions such as HEC Liège, ESSEC, ICN, Solvay Brussels School and the University of Lorraine — providing advanced academic pathways compatible with professional life.
