Luxembourg’s financial sector experienced an extraordinary display of collaboration and innovation during the 3rd edition of the ABBL’s Bank CEOs – FinTechs Speed Meeting event, held on 20 January 2025. Organised by the ABBL, the event underscored the strengthening synergy between traditional banking institutions and the FinTech ecosystem.

A key highlight of the event was the session, moderated by Ananda Kautz, Innovation Payments and Sustainability – Member of the Management Board at ABBL, featuring the presentation of two compelling success stories demonstrating the transformative potential of bank-FinTech partnerships:
- Spuerkeess and Greenomy: Presented by CEO Françoise Thoma and Head of Sustainable Finance Julien Froumouth, this collaboration illustrated the thriving opportunities in sustainable finance initiatives.
- Swissquote Bank Europe and Sharegain: Presented by CEO Dave Sparvell, this partnership showcased how innovation can enhance client value and unlock new opportunities.
Facilitating transformative conversations
The heart of the event was its speed-meeting format, offering FinTech firms a rare opportunity to directly engage with six CEOs of banks operating in Luxembourg. This structure fostered candid discussions on challenges and opportunities, facilitating transformative collaborations.

The evening concluded with an insightful address from Jerry Grbic, CEO of ABBL, followed by a networking dinner that allowed participants to continue their conversations in a more informal setting.
