Beyond Compliance: From Data Protection to Value Creation

How can data protection evolve from a regulatory requirement into a genuine driver of value creation for the financial sector?
On 10 November 2026, the CNPD will host the conference “Beyond Compliance: From Data Protection to Value Creation” at the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce.
The event will mark the official launch of the joint CNPD, CNIL and ICO report “From data protection to value creation in the financial sector: data valuation, accounting, mergers and acquisitions, and governance”.
Bringing together experts from data protection, finance and corporate governance, the conference will explore the recognition and valuation of data assets, their accounting treatment, the role of data protection in mergers and acquisitions, and the relationship between GDPR certification and value creation.
Amandine Laurent, Senior Legal Adviser at the ABBL, will participate in the panel dedicated to the M&A value chain, due diligence, data protection and value creation.
ABBL members are strongly encouraged to attend this event and contribute to the discussion on the evolving role of data protection within the financial sector.
