PSD3 & PSR: Key Regulatory Changes for the Payments Industry
The ABBL, in collaboration with A&O Shearman, invites members to a conference dedicated to the upcoming third Payment Services Directive (PSD3) and the new Payment Services Regulation (PSR).
Building on the foundations of PSD2, this new legislative package aims to further harmonise the European payments framework, strengthen consumer protection, enhance fraud prevention and improve open banking across the European Union.
The reform will have significant implications for banks, payment institutions, e-money institutions, fintechs and other participants in the payments ecosystem.
Bringing together representatives from the regulator, legal experts and market participants, the conference will provide a practical overview of the main regulatory changes and their expected impact on the European payments industry.
Key topics
Participants will gain insights into:
- The key objectives and policy drivers behind PSD3 and PSR
- The main changes compared with PSD2 and the Electronic Money Directive
- The impact on banks, payment institutions, e-money institutions and fintechs
- The implementation timeline and key milestones
- Compliance challenges and market opportunities
- Perspectives from regulators, legal experts and industry representatives
