FinTech and Innovation Forum discusses payments and corporate treasury

The FinTech and Innovation Forum of the ABBL held its meeting on December 1, 2023, to discuss questions related to payments and the modernization of bank connectivity for international, regulated, and institutional clients in Luxembourg. The event was driven and co-hosted by HSBC Continental Europe, Luxembourg.

At the conference, attendees had the opportunity to become acquainted with HSBC Continental Europe’s vision towards Application Programming Interface (API) for partners, industry, and treasury. For the latter, the bank strives for enhanced efficiency and timeliness in cash management practices. Representatives of HSBC outlined their approach to cooperating with FinTech firms on the treasury API use-case, highlighting ongoing cooperation with Finologee in this regard.

The spotlight of the event then shifted to innovative FinTech solutions for payments-related use-cases with presentations by Mopso and Trigger Software showcasing technological advancements in transaction monitoring and payments areas.

Finally, a panel discussion explored “New Horizons for Innovation in Corporate Treasury” and touched upon subjects such as future developments in APIs, the role of generative AI, trends or changes in bank-FinTech cooperation, and technologies expected to impact the financial sector.

Its main goal is to provide a platform for direct exchange and interactions between ABBL members and FinTech firms on topics of common interest in the areas of innovation and financial technologies. The topic of each FIF meeting is different (e.g. payments, DLT, WealthTech, AI, cybersecurity, etc.). Usually, each FIF meeting is driven or hosted by a bank.
