The new Luxembourg banking collective bargaining agreement for 2024–2026 strengthens employee benefits, training, and working conditions while supporting the long-term competitiveness of the banking sector.
Summary
The ABBL is pleased to announce the official signing of the new collective bargaining agreement for the Luxembourg banking sector, covering the period 2024-2026. This agreement, negotiated in collaboration with ALEBA, LCGB, and OGBL trade unions, marks a significant milestone in ensuring the sector remains competitive and attractive while addressing future challenges.
The agreement introduces key enhancements, including strengthened provisions to reward employee loyalty and commitment across the banking industry. Available in French, English, and German, the collective bargaining agreement is a crucial document that governs the working conditions within the sector. In the event of any discrepancies between the translations, the French version will take precedence.
A key milestone for the future of the banking sector
The primary objective of the new agreement is to ensure that the Luxembourg banking sector continues to play a pivotal role in the country’s economy while offering improved working conditions for employees. These enhanced provisions focus on recognising the loyalty of banking staff, providing opportunities for ongoing training and development, and ensuring the sector is well-positioned to adapt to the rapidly evolving market landscape.
The negotiation teams, representing both employers and employees, worked together to strike a balance between the needs of the workforce and the sector’s competitiveness. This collaboration ensures that the agreement provides a robust foundation for the future, benefitting both employees and employers alike.
