Online fraud is evolving, so is awareness: ABBL teams up with Avanti Sharma to reach younger audiences
Published on 23 April 2026
Building on its national campaign against online fraud, the ABBL continues to expand its outreach through new formats and partnerships.
In collaboration with entrepreneur Avanti Sharma, a new video initiative brings a fresh and engaging perspective to raise awareness among younger audiences.
Summary
As online fraud continues to rise, raising awareness across all segments of the population remains a priority. While recent efforts have focused on the general public, a growing need has emerged: reaching younger audiences in a more direct and relatable way.
In this context, the ABBL has joined forces with Avanti Sharma, a young entrepreneur and digital literacy advocate, to co-create a video aimed specifically at younger generations in Luxembourg.
Building on a national momentum
This initiative builds on the ABBL’s ongoing commitment to preventing online fraud, notably through the national campaign launched with the Luxembourg House of Cybersecurity and 17 partners.
By extending this effort with new formats and voices, the objective remains clear: encouraging vigilance, critical thinking and the right reflexes.

Fraud is no longer limited to a specific group, it affects everyone. Reaching younger audiences is essential, as they are highly active in digital environments and increasingly exposed to new types of risks.

A fresh voice to reach younger audiences
Partnering with Avanti Sharma brings a new dimension to this initiative.
The video highlights key risks that are particularly relevant for younger audiences, including:
- “easy money” schemes targeting young people
- phishing and impersonation attempts
- the role of social media in fraud exposure

Awareness is the first step towards protection. Young people need to understand how these risks work so they can make informed decisions online.

Turning awareness into action
Beyond awareness, the initiative promotes simple but essential reflexes:
- taking a step back when faced with urgency
- verifying information directly at the source
- avoiding clicking on suspicious links
- never sharing personal or banking data
These messages echo the core principle of the national campaign:
“Don’t click. Check it. Report it.”
In case of doubt or suspected fraud, individuals can take immediate action by calling the dedicated hotline 491010, available 24/7, to block LuxTrust certificates and limit potential damage.
A shared responsibility
Ensuring a safer digital environment requires a collective effort. By combining institutional initiatives with more accessible and engaging formats, the ABBL continues to broaden the reach of its prevention actions.
