Make a difference: volunteer for Woch vun de Suen 2025

Published on 27 November 2024

Woch vun de Suen 2025 is inviting volunteers to help deliver financial education to primary school students across Luxembourg, promoting budgeting, saving and responsible money management from an early age.

Summary

The ABBL and the ABBL Foundation for Financial Education are excited to announce the return of Woch vun de Suen (Money Week) from 17 to 21 March 2025. This annual initiative, supported by the Ministry of Education, Children and Youth, is part of the European Money Week by the European Banking Federation and the OECD’s Global Money Week.

This unique event aims to provide students in cycle 4 of Luxembourg’s primary schools (ages 10 to 12) with essential knowledge about the value of money and the importance of budgeting. Through an engaging two-hour educational activity, young learners are equipped with the tools to make informed financial decisions in an increasingly consumer-driven world.

    What we offer

Using the interactive Money Odyssey app, students explore key financial literacy concepts, such as:

    • Understanding the value of money and making informed spending decisions.
    • Distinguishing between needs and wants.
    • Budgeting basics and the importance of saving.
    • Insights into banking, payment methods, and responsible investing.
    • Financial scams awareness and an introduction to cryptocurrencies.

The programme also highlights the role of sustainability and responsible finance, helping students understand how their choices impact the future.

    Why your help matters

To make this initiative a success, we rely on the commitment of volunteer trainers. As a volunteer, you will deliver engaging sessions to students, fostering a strong foundation for their financial future. Volunteers must remain strictly impartial, avoiding any promotional content about their organisation, services, or products. The focus is solely on education, with no logos, promotional materials, or giveaways permitted.

    How to volunteer ?

If you are passionate about financial education and would like to contribute, we would love to have you on board! Please register via our online form or contact fondation@abbl.lu for further details.

Help us inspire the next generation to become financially responsible citizens!
