Navigating CRD VI — From transposition of the Directive to market reality
Please note that registration is only considered final once a confirmation email has been received from the organisers.
In collaboration with the ABBL, Arendt is organising the first industry-wide conference dedicated to the upcoming implementation in Luxembourg of the sixth EU Capital Requirements Directive (CRD VI) and its impact on Luxembourg-based credit institutions.
CRD VI is widely expected to be one of the most significant regulatory developments in 2026. It introduces substantial changes for Luxembourg banks and will also profoundly reshape how non-EU banks may access the EU market going forward.
With the Luxembourg transposition process now entering its final stage, this conference aims to provide early clarity on the main developments, combining legal, regulatory and operational perspectives to better understand what CRD VI will mean in practice.
Key focus areas
While CRD VI has a broad scope, discussions will notably focus on:
- Governance-related changes introduced by CRD VI
- The new regulatory notification and approval process for material operations
- The new third-country branch regulatory regime
- Practical implications for Luxembourg-based credit institutions
