The “ABBL Position on the EU Commission Retail Investor Strategy” (August 2023) welcomes the objective of strengthening investor protection and market trust, while raising concerns about proposed cost-based product benchmarking, inducement restrictions, suitability changes, and professional client reclassification. ABBL advocates proportionate, cross-sectoral rules that preserve market diversity, innovation, and effective investor choice.
