ICBC (Europe) S.A. is the regional management platform of ICBC on Continental Europe headquartered
in Luxembourg. The Bank plays an important role in serving European clients and fostering economic
cooperation between China and Europe through its 6 branches in the Netherlands, Poland, Belgium,
France, Italy, Spain and its Representative Office in Greece. The EU is regarded as a key foothold in
ICBC’s global network.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Handle day-to-day legal matters and provide legal advice, including analysis, research and drafting;
  • Draft, review and participate in negotiations of a wide range of transactions and contractual
    documents (bilateral loans, syndicated loans, ISDA, risk participation, Terms & Conditions, etc) and service agreements;
  • Monitor, analyse and assess the potential impact of relevant legal and regulatory developments impacting the Bank as issued at EU and local levels by the CSSF, the EBA or other competent authorities;
  • Draft, review, and update legal and regulatory policies and procedures of the Bank;
  • Support and contribute to internal projects, trainings, and process improvements;
  • Manage and/or support the legal function of the Branches of the Bank;
  • Manage complaints and litigation handling in accordance with applicable laws and regulations as well as internal policies;
  • Contact and manage external law firms collaborations and the outsourcing of some legal works;
  • Undertake any other legal or regulatory tasks as required by the Head of Department and/or the Management of the Bank.

Your profile:

  • Master degree in Law (obtained in EU), completion of the CCDL (supplementary courses in
    Luxembourg Law) is an asset;
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English, proficiency in French is an asset;
  • 5 to 8 years experience within the legal department of an international bank or an international law firm with focus on banking law;
  • Excellent knowledge of EU and local banking and financial regulations (e.g., EMIR, MiFID II, PSD 2, CRD VI, and DORA) and of Luxembourg banking business (corporate banking, investment banking, and financial markets);
  • High level of accuracy, self-organization and collaborative and solution-oriented attitude;
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and work effectively in a multicultural
    environment and collaborate across departments and with external stakeholders;
  • Sense of discretion, confidentiality, integrity and transparency.
