ALJB 2026 Conference: Securities Law and Contemporary Challenges
On 15 October 2026, the Luxembourg Banking & Financial Law Association (ALJB) will hold its annual conference, “Le droit des titres : enjeux contemporains”, at Spuerkeess in Luxembourg.
Organised on the occasion of the publication of the ALJB’s new book dedicated to securities, the conference will examine the legal framework governing securities throughout their lifecycle, from their legal nature and book-entry registration to their custody, protection and enforcement in an increasingly dematerialised financial environment.
Bringing together academics and legal and financial-sector practitioners, the programme will address both established legal questions and developments such as digital securities, tokenisation and the evolving role of central securities depositories (CSDs).
Key topics
The conference will explore:
- Rights, obligations and protection mechanisms arising from the book-entry registration of securities
- The liability of securities depositaries
- Securities subscriptions and their interaction with investment fund practice
- Enforcement against financial securities and the challenges for creditors and banks
- Securities in an increasingly dematerialised environment
- The evolution of financial protection involving central securities depositories
- Digital securities and advances in tokenisation
- The protection of securities under criminal law
