Beyond Silos #1: Fighting Fraud Together

Fraud is evolving rapidly, and protecting people from it increasingly requires collaboration across institutions, sectors and disciplines.
On 29 September 2026, Amandine Laurent, Legal Adviser – AML/CFT, Compliance & Data Protection at the ABBL, will take part in Beyond Silos #1: Fighting Fraud Together, an event bringing together stakeholders from across Luxembourg’s fraud ecosystem.
Organised by DESILO Europe and the Luxembourg House of Financial Technology (LHoFT), the event will explore one central question:
How can we better protect people in Luxembourg from fraud?
For the banking sector, this question is particularly relevant as fraud prevention increasingly depends on the ability of financial institutions, authorities and other stakeholders to share information, coordinate their responses and detect emerging threats while respecting regulatory and data protection requirements.
The discussion will look at what people are experiencing today, how fraud is changing, where current prevention and response mechanisms still fall short, and what different parts of Luxembourg’s ecosystem can do next. Topics will span prevention and public awareness, victim protection, financial crime detection, law enforcement, industry collaboration, regulation and emerging technologies.
ABBL participation
Amandine Laurent, Legal Adviser – AML/CFT, Compliance & Data Protection at the ABBL, will participate in the discussions, bringing the banking sector’s perspective to the wider conversation on fraud prevention and cooperation in Luxembourg.
Her participation reflects the importance of cross-sector collaboration in tackling fraud, particularly as financial institutions navigate the interaction between fraud prevention, AML/CFT requirements, information sharing and data protection.
The event will notably consider how AMLR Article 75 can enable cross-institutional information sharing, alongside new privacy-preserving approaches to fraud detection.

- How Luxembourg can better protect people from fraud
- New approaches to fighting fraud
- Collaboration and information sharing across the ecosystem
The discussions will be followed by a networking reception.
What participants can expect
Beyond Silos is designed to bring different perspectives together and foster a shared conversation on how Luxembourg can respond more effectively to fraud.
Participants will gain a broader view of the fraud landscape, insights into gaps ranging from prevention and detection to victim protection and enforcement, and practical perspectives on collaboration, information sharing, regulation and privacy-preserving technology. The event will also provide opportunities to connect with stakeholders across Luxembourg’s fraud ecosystem.
