The ABBL promoted financial literacy and digital awareness at YEP! Schoulfoire 2026 through a joint initiative targeting young pupils.
In collaboration with SCRIPT and the Luxembourg House of Cybersecurity, the Fondation ABBL pour l’éducation financière engaged hundreds of students through interactive learning activities.
Summary
At the 2026 edition of the YEP! Schoulfoire, the Fondation ABBL pour l’éducation financière joined forces with SCRIPT and the Luxembourg House of Cybersecurity (LHC) to deliver a shared, interactive experience aimed at pupils aged 8 to 12.
Held over four days at Luxexpo, this major national education fair brought together students, parents and education professionals to explore learning pathways and future opportunities. Within this context, the joint initiative focused on a key priority: equipping younger generations with essential financial and digital skills.
A collaborative approach to financial literacy and digital awareness
The initiative combined complementary expertise to address three fundamental dimensions of financial literacy:
- Understanding the history of money (SCRIPT), through interactive quizzes and challenges
- Managing money wisely (Fondation ABBL pour l’éducation financière), introducing basic budgeting and financial habits
- Protecting money online (LHC), raising awareness of digital fraud and safe online practices
By pooling their knowledge, the three partners created a coherent and engaging learning journey, allowing pupils to better understand how money works in today’s increasingly digital environment.
Engaging young pupils through interactive financial education
Throughout the event, hundreds of pupils and educators took part in the activities, highlighting the strong interest in practical and accessible financial education at an early age.
This hands-on approach reflects the broader ambition of the Fondation ABBL pour l’éducation financière: to make financial education tangible, relevant and accessible to all.
Introducing financial concepts early helps children build confidence and develop responsible habits that will stay with them throughout their lives. Seeing their engagement and curiosity at the Schoulfoire was particularly encouraging.

Developing practical financial skills from an early age
Building on this momentum, the Foundation continues to develop initiatives focused on practical money management skills, including:
- saving with a purpose and setting simple financial goals
- understanding the difference between needs and wants
- recognising the value of money through effort and choices
These concepts aim to support children in developing a healthy relationship with money from an early age.
Giving a voice to young participants
The experience was also captured through direct feedback from participants.
“We learned that we will have to manage money on our own in the future. It’s important not to spend everything and to learn how to manage money. Our parents won’t always be there, so we have to be able to manage it ourselves,” said Oscar, aged 11.
