This event is reserved for ABBL members.

Participation is free of charge, subject to prior registration.

Friday, 27 November 2026 | 10:00–12:00 | Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce

About the event

The revised Consumer Credit Directive (CCD II) introduces a new European regulatory framework for consumer credit, with significant implications for banks, credit providers and their relationships with retail customers.

To help its members understand and prepare for these changes, the Luxembourg Bankers’ Association (ABBL) is organising a dedicated conference on 27 November 2026, with the participation of the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF) and Spuerkeess (BCEE).

The conference will examine the new regulatory requirements and their implications for Luxembourg’s banking sector, combining legal and regulatory perspectives with practical considerations for financial institutions.

Particular attention will be given to the challenges facing retail banking professionals and consumer lending teams as they adapt their processes and practices to the revised framework.

Key topics

The conference will address:

  • The main changes introduced by the Consumer Credit Directive II
  • The scope and requirements of the revised European consumer credit framework
  • Consumer protection, transparency and responsible lending
  • Creditworthiness assessments and customer information requirements
  • Legal, regulatory and operational implications for credit institutions
  • Practical considerations for implementation within Luxembourg’s banking sector

Speakers

The conference will feature contributions from:

  • Jonathan Hug, Head of Legal, Tax & Compliance, ABBL
  • Philippe Di Cato, Deputy Head of Business Unit, Legal Governance, Spuerkeess (BCEE)
  • Isabelle Jaspart, Deputy Head of the Legal Department, CSSF
