Call for interview participants: AI and the EU AI Act in Luxembourg’s financial services sector

The University of Luxembourg’s Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust (SnT) has launched an academic research study on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and the practical implementation of the EU AI Act within Luxembourg’s financial services sector. This initiative aims to gather concrete, experience-based insights into how organisations are interpreting new regulatory requirements, assessing risks and opportunities linked to AI, establishing internal governance and controls, and coordinating with relevant stakeholders in Luxembourg and beyond. The ABBL actively supports this research initiative, which contributes to strengthening the collective understanding of AI governance and regulatory readiness across Luxembourg’s financial ecosystem. By supporting this study, the ABBL encourages knowledge sharing and dialogue to help the sector prepare for the challenges and opportunities arising from the EU AI Act.

Summary

    Who is invited?

    •  Professionals from Luxembourg-based financial institutions (including banks, payment institutions, fintechs and investment firms) involved in EU AI Act discussions, impact assessments or implementation efforts
    • Other stakeholders engaged in AI and EU AI Act-related discussions in Luxembourg, such as industry associations, consultancy firms, technology providers or public bodies

    What does participation involve?

    • A voluntary online interview of approximately 45–60 minutes via Microsoft Teams
    • Language: English
    • With participants’ consent, interviews will be recorded and transcribed to support accurate academic analysis

    What’s in it for participants?

    • An invitation to a closing event where the research team will present the key findings and facilitate a discussion on their implications for the sector
    • An opportunity to contribute to advancing scientific knowledge on how the EU AI Act is being interpreted and operationalised in practice in Luxembourg, including emerging governance and compliance approaches

    Voluntary participation and confidentiality

    • Participation is entirely voluntary and can be withdrawn at any time
    • All data will be handled confidentially
    • Transcripts will be pseudonymised and outputs fully anonymised, ensuring that individuals and organisations cannot be identified
    • The study is conducted within the University of Luxembourg and fully complies with institutional research ethics and data protection requirements
